How to get your company recommended by AI assistants

You cannot buy a place in an assistant's answer. You can make your company easy to find, easy to understand and easy to quote.

1. Say who you are, plainly

Put a clear sentence on your home page: what you do, for whom and where. Use the same wording on your other pages and listings.

2. Answer the questions buyers ask

Write pages and FAQs that answer real questions in plain language, such as cost factors, timelines and how to choose. Pages like these are useful to readers and easy for assistants to quote.

3. Add structured data

Structured data is code that labels your business, services, address and FAQs for machines. It does not change how the page looks, but it makes your facts unambiguous.

4. Add llms.txt

An llms.txt file is a plain-text summary of your company and key pages. It is an emerging convention and not every assistant reads it, but it is simple to add.

5. Keep the site fast and readable

Pages should load quickly, work on phones and show their content without needing scripts. Clean headings and descriptive image text help both people and machines.

6. Keep your facts consistent

Make sure your name, address, services and contact details match across your website, Google Business Profile, LinkedIn and other listings.

7. Be patient and measure

Check Google Search Console, and ask assistants questions about your category from time to time. Improve the pages that matter.
